We have two active troupes at Suspended Animation Aerials. Audition to join us on March 1 at 4pm!

Recreational Troupe

This troupe performs unpaid at small community events to build ambient performance experience.

Auditions twice per year
Placements last one year
Gym membership is required
One rehearsal per month to get feedback on your ambient sets
Audition is required to perform at any of our community events
Strong Recreational Troupe members can be called up to Performance Troupe gigs at any time

This troupe performs paid corporate events, fundraisers, and festivals.

Auditions once per year (unless a spot opens up mid-cycle)
Placements last one year
Gym membership is not required
Two rehearsals per week to get feedback on ambient or feature sets for gym members
Occasional free classes on performance improvement skills (often ground dance)
Performance Troupe members are expected not to compete for aerial performance/gig work in Central Indiana to maintain their spot on our troupe
Performance Troupe members are expected to train regularly
Performance Troupe members are welcome to perform at Recreational Troupe gigs, if interested

Perform a 2.5 – 4 minute act on an SAA apparatus to audition
- Looking for effortless movement quality, good form, and stage presence. The act difficulty and apparatus choice are less important to selection. A strong performer can be put in many roles.
- Ground auditions are welcome
Learn a short piece of group ground choreography
Demonstrate a mount to hammock or bar apparatus (if not included in your audition)
- rigged height of 1′ above your head
- flare mount preferred
Demonstrate front and center splits on the floor
Send video reel of any value-added skills beyond your primary audition (e.g., stilt walking, juggling, hooping) by 2/23/26 at 11:59:59pm EST
Send song MP3 file by 2/23/26 at 11:59:59pm EST
